Farewell, dear sister; thou hast gone to thy rest; In the land of bright day, the land of the blest, Thy spirit has fled from earth's trials so sore, And today is at home on the ever green shore. The vessel was tossed on life's billows with fear, Till Christ in his beauty to thee did appear, And drove from thy heart every shadow of gloom, He welcomed thee safe to His arms, now at home. Most bitter the cup God in his kindness has given, But the thought that thy spirit today is in Heaven, Shall still every murmur,---we will not repine At thy change so glorious, a death such as thine.
