Description	:	Margaret A. Geer, age 77, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa after a brief illness. Margaret Ann Geer was born October 13, 1934 in Omaha, Nebraska the daughter of E.H. and Jessie (Higgins) Wagaman. She was raised in Villisca, Iowa where she graduated from high school in 1952. Geer, age 77, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa after a brief illness. Margaret Ann Geer was born October 13, 1934 in Omaha, Nebraska the daughter of E.H. and Jessie (Higgins) Wagaman. She was raised in Villisca, Iowa where she graduated from high school in 1952. She moved to Clarinda, Iowa where she worked for the Lisle Corporation. On September 29, 1957, Margaret was united in marriage to Wayne Geer in Villisca, Iowa. They farmed for many years in Montgomery County before moving into Red Oak in 1983. Margaret worked for Montgomery County Memorial Hospital for 25 years retiring in the late 1990's. Margaret was a member of the Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Red Oak Lions Club, the Neighborhood Study Club and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, painting, crafts, sewing, and cross stitch. Preceding her in death were her parents; her daughter: Linda; and sister: Dorothy Wagaman. Survivors include her husband: Wayne Geer of Red Oak, IA; children: Doug Geer and Cindi Thiry of Wichita, KS; Scott Geer and wife Sue of Stanton, IA; and Lisa Conry and husband Tom of Harlan, IA; grandchildren: Dustin Thiry of Wichita, KS; Keagan Geer of Council Bluffs, IA; Sydnee Geer of Bellevue, NE; Mark Conry of Davenport, IA; Sarah Conry of Ames, IA; Greg Conry of Harlan, IA; and Courtney Conry of Harlan, IA; sister-in-law: Laura Swift of Red Oak, IA; brother-in-law: Glenn Geer and wife Evonne of Duluth, MN; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Pilecki officiating. Burial will be in the Villisca, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Lions Club. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
