Orangeville Banner, February 13, 1947, page 12 - Obituary - Margaret Agnes Ward Margaret Agnes Connor, beloved wife of the late Lewis Alexander Ward, passed peacefully away in Lord Dufferin hospital on Monday, February 3rd, 1947, in her 74th year. She had been enjoying excellent health and was spending a few weeks with her sister, Mrs. John May, at Hillsburgh, when she was suddenly stricken with a paralytic seizure on February 1st and passed away without regaining consciousness. Mrs. Ward was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Connor and was born in Caledon township. When she was four or five years of age the family moved to Amaranth. She was married 48 years ago and had spent most of her married life in East Luther Township. Her husband died on April 2nd, 1937. They had moved to Adjala 26 years ago and Mrs. Ward was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, 7th Line, Mono. Left to mourn her loss are six daughters and four sons, namely, Mrs. Harold Aitkens, Hamilton; Mrs. Cecil Hills, Monticello; Myrtle, Toronto; Mrs. Milford McVanel, Toronto; Mrs. Stanley Wilson, Weston; Lewis, Tottenham; Jack, Ballycroy; Borden and Elwood, of Caledon, and Mrs. Arch. Chapman, Toronto. There are two sisters, Mrs. John H. May and Mrs. Wesley Bates, of Hillsburgh, and twelve grandchildren. The funeral service was held at the chapel of H. P. Darraugh, Second Ave., Orangeville, ON Wednesday, February 5th, at 2 p.m. Temporary interment was made in the Forest Lawn Mortuary. Burial will take place later in St. John's cemetery, 7th Line, Mono. The service was conducted by Rev. H. N. Bracken, of Hockley. Mr. Walter Gardiner sang "Earth Has No Sorrow that Heaven Cannot Heal." The pallbearers were Lewis, Jack, Borden and Elwood Ward, Stanley Wilson and Milford McVanel. The flowerbearers were Ray and Don Aitken, Elwood Wilson, Garnet and Bill Ward and Chester Welsh. The floral tributes included: Pillow, Borden, Lulu, Jim and Elwood; wreath, Myrtle, Ethyle and Arch.; spray, Edith and Harold; wreath, Reta and Cecil, Mabel and Milford, Lewis and Elsie, Jack and Mae; wreath, Mrs. J. May and Mrs. Wes. Bates; wreath, Hazel Yost; basket, Annie and Stan, Elwood and Dean; wreath, June Piper; wreath, Sunshine Club; basket, Muriel Addison and Dorothy Ward; basket, Mrs. H. Lee and family; sprays, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wilson; St. John's Church, Mono; Nursing Staff, Christie St. Hospital; Annie Dicken; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ward; Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Robinson; Mrs. J.
