Sister Mattison was born in McDonald county, Illinois, August 11, 1848; was married to James Mattison Jan. 1st, 1871, at Marysville, Marion county, Iowa. They came to Kansas in an early day and settled in Ida, where they lived many years honored and respected citizens and members of the M. E. church. Read More	The Belleville Telescope, February 13, 1891 Died, at Hubbell, Neb., February 2d, Mrs. Margaret A., wife of James Mattison, formerly of Ida, Kansas. Sister Mattison was born in McDonald county, Illinois, August 11, 1848; was married to James Mattison Jan. 1st, 1871, at Marysville, Marion county, Iowa. They came to Kansas in an early day and settled in Ida, where they lived many years honored and respected citizens and members of the M. E. church. Last May the deceased took sick, since which time she has suffered more than a hundred deaths. She bore it cheerfully, looking always upon the bright side and hoping for the best until the end came. While she lived Christ was with her, and when she died she went to Christ. Her last words were "Meet me in Heaven." So passed from the storm coast of woe to the heaven of rest a loving wife, a fond mother, a kind neighbor and a devoted christian. The funeral services were conducted in the Presbyterian church of Hubbell by Rev. D. A. Allen of Cuba,. the earthly remains were laid in the cemetery at Ida. ======================================= She was the mother of five children: Mary, Catherine, and Leroy who were born in Iowa, Fredrick and Gracie who were born in Kansas.
