Read More	Margaret (Peggy) Audell McGraw Waples Margaret Audell (Peggy) McGraw Waples was born April 16, 1925 in Forsyth, Rosebud County, Montana to John (Jack) & Ceciel Katherine Dwyer McGraw. She was the youngest of four children: John Jr. (born/died 1919), Merle Josephine McGraw Murray (born 1921) now of Polson, MT and Grace Irene McGraw Pinkerton (born 1924-died 1996). Peggy grew up in the Hammond Valley area, starting school at age four because her mother was the school teacher. She graduated from Forsyth High School in 1942. Her first job was as a medical receptionist for Dr. Tarbox, a well known physician in the Forsyth area. She learned how to give shots and was highly talented with her shorthand skills. She also worked as a secretary at Boeing Aircraft in Spokane, Washington during World War II while her husband was in the Army. Margaret Audell McGraw married Pershing Woodrow Waples on March 2, 1943 in Forsyth, Montana and to this union nine children were born. Peggy was preceded in death by her first son, baby boy Waples in 1944, an infant daughter Jean in 1949, her daughter Faye Wells in 2005, her husband "Pep" Waples in 1995, and her sister Grace Irene Pinkerton in 1996, and her brother, John Jr. who died in infancy, and a grandson Billy Jo Zeier of Ryegate, Montana. Pep and Peggy resided in Hammond Valley near Forsyth when they were first married, and then moved to Forsyth. They lived for a short time in Colstrip in about 1952-53 while Pep worked in the coal mine. They resided at the Howard Ranch on the Rosebud Creek for 24 years and then moved back to Colstrip. When Pep Waples retired in 1984 from Long Construction in Colstrip, they moved to Harlowton, Montana where they had purchased a house and remodeled it. Peggy resided there until Pep became ill in July 1995. After Pep's death in November 1995, Peggy lived with her sister Grace in Shepherd, Montana for about six months. When Grace passed away, she came back to Colstrip in 1996 and lived there until June of 2002, when she took residence in the McCone County Nursing Home because of diabetic health complications. Peggy will be remembered for the warm cup of coffee for friends and neighbors and the graham crackers and cocoa milk for children who came to visit. Family and friends were always welcome. Her children will always remember the notes in shorthand on the calendar, notes on her kitchen table, and the love of books she passed on to each one. She enjoyed reading books, especially historical books, and the newspaper. Peggy Waples is survived by her children, Russell (Susan) Waples of Terry, Montana, Gracie (Bruce) Hill of St. Anthony, Idaho, Joey (Nick) Mothershead of Brockway, Montana, Howard Waples of Colstrip, Shane Waples of Colstrip, and Peggy Kay Waples of Terry. She is also survived by twelve grand children and twenty great-grandchildren, her sister Merle Jo McGraw Murray of Polson and a special cousin Paul (Garnet) Stephenson of Anaconda and Marjorie Rose Oatey Ferguson of Billings.
