Born in Crisfield on June 5, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Sue Ennis Smith. Her husband, Lacey L. Sloan preceded her in death in 1972. She was a homemaker and a member of Rehobeth Presbyterian Church in Rehobeth and Liberty Rock Church in Crisfield. Mrs. Sloan's humility and faith in God was foremost in her life. Sloan, 93, of Crisfield, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, from Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Crisfield on June 5, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Sue Ennis Smith. Her husband, Lacey L. Sloan preceded her in death in 1972. She was a homemaker and a member of Rehobeth Presbyterian Church in Rehobeth and Liberty Rock Church in Crisfield. Mrs. Sloan's humility and faith in God was foremost in her life. A humble person who faithfully and selflessly gave of herself to others, Mrs. Sloan spent much time praying for and helping others to love Jesus more. She truly lived a life of love and forgiveness which touched so many and her legacy will live on through those who lives she touched. She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Bernice McCoy and her husband, Michael of Westover and Mary Sue Sloan of Crisfield; a special daughter, Della Corbin and her husband, Michael, of Crisfield; six grandchildren, John McCoy Cullen of Colorado, Linda Sue Sterling of Crisfield, Margaret Williamson of Carlisle, Pa., Dixie Pruitt of Eden, E. Nelson Cullen of North Carolina and Tim Cullen of North Carolina; 11 great-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles E. Smith who died in 1971; a sister, Elizabeth S. Foster who died in 2000; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. The Revs David Parke and Nolan Ford will officiate. Interment will follow in Rehobeth Presbyterian Cemetery in Rehobeth.
