Death came to Mrs. Fred Rahn at her home southwest of this city, Bruce township, Wednesday morning at 1:15 o’clock Her death came as a surprise to her many acquaintances who did not know that she was ill. In December she suffered a severe __ which had gradually become worse since Christmas Day, developing into an infection of the mucous membranes of the nose and throat. Although her condition was not considered serious, a trained nurse was summoned to care for her. The immediate cause of death was a heart attack when she suffered early Wednesday morning. The deceased lived in the immediate vicinity where her death occurred for 51 years, most of the time on two adjoining farms. She was a kind neighbor and her passing will be mourned by all who knew her. She was a member of Thistle Rebekah lodge, No. 261, of this city. She was one of the organizers of the Community club west of this city and was a valued member at the time of her death. Margaret Blaine Morgan was born Aug. 9, 1884, in Bruce township, Benton county, and was the youngest child of Thomas G. and Susan H. Morgan. After the death of her father when she was nine years of age she continued to live with her mother until she was 12 years old when she went to the home of her oldest brother, the late W.E. Morgan of this place, where she resided until her marriage to Fredrick W. Rahn, which took place in Waterloo, Sept. 11, 1912. To this union were born one son and one daughter. The son, Charles F., is at present teaching in the consolidated school at Underwood, Iowa. The daughter, Ila M. passed away very suddenly on Aug. 12, 1924. She leaves to mourn her death the husband and son and the following brothers and sisters: Charles L. Morgan, Mrs. Ida M. Fox and Mrs. Ernest Burrows, all of this locality. She was preceded in death by the daughter, Miss Ila, and the brother, the late W.E. Morgan, and a sister, Mrs. Cora Hart. Funeral services will be held in the Presbyterian church Friday afternoon at two-thirty o’clock conducted by the minister, Rev. R.Q. Ludy, assisted by Rev. C.D. James, of the Methodist Episcopal church. Nephews of the deceased will act as pall bearers. Interment will be in West View cemetery in the family lot.
