Description	:	Mrs. M. C. HICKS: Mrs. Margaret Christina Hicks, passed peacefully away Wednesday, April 6th, 1949, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bert Ford, Amaranth Township. Mrs. Hicks was of a quiet loving disposition and although in failing health and bedfast for a long time, bore her disability with Christian patience and fortitude. Mrs. Hicks was of a quiet loving disposition and although in failing health and bedfast for a long time, bore her disability with Christian patience and fortitude. She was the daughter of the late James Slack and Elizabeth Wright, and was born in Melancthon township on March 11th, 1872. In 1899 she married John H. Hicks, who predeceased her 15 years ago. Left to mourn a loving mother and grandmother are four sons: Addison and Arthur, London, Ont.; Walter, of Mono, and William, Amaranth, also one daughter (Lena), Mrs. Bert Ford, Amaranth; also 17 grandchildren. One brother, James Slack, also survives. The funeral took place from the home of her son William, Lot 30, con. 5, Amaranth, on Friday afternoon, and was conducted by Rev. H. O. Hutcheson. Interment was made in Shelburne Cemetery. The flower bearers were two nephews, Mervin and Lavern Webster, ten grandchildren, Murray Fern and Gerald Ford, Valeria, Howard, Gordon, Bill, Mary, Bob and Evelyn Hicks.
