Description	:	Oct 1916 - Carroll Times - Mrs. Joseph Daniels passed away at her home in the fourth ward at 1:30 Sunday morning after an illness of three months, the last eight weeks of which was one continual struggle against death. The cause of her demise was hardening of the arteries. Mrs. Daniels, whose maiden name was Margaret Donnelly, was born in Ontario, Canada, May 17, 1846, and was married in I862, in Canada to Joseph Daniels, a carpenter and contractor. The cause of her demise was hardening of the arteries. Mrs. Daniels, whose maiden name was Margaret Donnelly, was born in Ontario, Canada, May 17, 1846, and was married in I862, in Canada to Joseph Daniels, a carpenter and contractor. They resided in Canada until 1868, when they moved to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, and in 1873 located in Kniest township and formed part of the early settlers in the Mount Carmel colony. They resided on the farm for 30 years and about 13 years ago moved to Carroll to the home which they purchased on 412 South Clark street. On January 19, 1909, Mr. Daniels died and since that time Mrs. Daniels has continued to live at her old home. Of the eleven children born, ten survive to mourn for their mother. Frank, one of the boys, dying at the age of 7. The surviving children are John W., Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; Charles, Carroll; Mary (Mrs. Henry Reyling), Parkstown, South Dakota; Philomena (Mrs. Vern Swender), Carroll; Lizzie (Mrs. William Lux), Lidderdale; Henry, Mt. Carmel; Katie (Mrs. Nick Underberg), Carroll; Theresia (Mrs. Crelgton Woodyard) Lanesboro; Rose (Mrs. Earl Duckett), Carroll, and Joe at home. She also leaves two brothers, Joseph Donnelly, Ontario, Canada, and John, Harver, Montana; forty-one grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The funeral was held Wednesday morning from SS. Peter and Paul's church of which she was a member. Mrs. Daniels was a good-hearted, generous-minded woman, a true neighbor and friend and when in good health very faithful to her church duties. She will be missed not only by her chllden but by many dear friends.
