Read More	The family of Margaret Boes announces with sadness her passing on Friday, January 18, 2019, at the incredible age of 97 as she enters eternal life. This will also be a celebration of a life filled with Margaret making a difference in many people’s lives. Margaret was born, November 29, 1921, in a country home in Carroll County to Mary Agnes (McLaughlin) and Leo Bernard Dunn. Margaret spent her youth at her parent’s farm and when a fire burned down their home, for the next year, they lived in a building which was formerly used to store grain. Margaret told this story many times as it had quite an impact on her life realizing the fortitude and perseverance that her family went through. Margaret graduated from Wall Lake High School in 1939, and for a while, she chose to stay at home and helped her parents on their farm. Then she moved to Omaha to be employed at Mutual of Omaha, which was a definite highlight of her life as she loved working in this capacity. On February 28, 1949, Margaret was united in marriage to Raymond Boes at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake, Iowa. As they began their married life together, they lived in the Breda area for 10 years, where they were involved in a farming operation. In 1958, they purchased the McLaughlin Family Farm in the Wall Lake area, which was of great pride for the married couple. Margaret truly loved her Irish heritage as God blessed her with both Irish beauty and quick, Irish wit. She will long be remembered for her writing expertise with her words of comfort given forth to unlimited members of her family, her relatives, friends and even strangers through her many letters and cards written with caring, grace and her beautiful penmanship. No matter what anyone was going through, she would write a meaningful card or letter with just the appropriate words to make them feel better. The talent of eloquent writing was her gift given freely to many. Anyone who had a prayer request knew that Margaret was a powerful prayer warrior for their intentions. Prayer was not only a daily practice in her life, but especially in her later years, moment to moment.Margaret belonged to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, The Catholic Daughters of America and the St. Joseph’s Guild. The things that brought such joy to Margaret’s heart were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. No matter what health ailment she had, when they entered the room, her smile was filled with joy and her heart was full. Her legacy continues forth through the generations of these special individuals. Margaret’s life will forever be etched in the lives and hearts of her children, Mary Boes (friend Ginny McDermott) of Waterloo, IA, Jeanne (Gary) Haverman of Bayard, IA, and Anne (Jim) Riesberg of Carroll, IA. She will long be remembered in the memories and stories shared through her grandchildren, Shantel (Darren) Farnan, Amber (Patrick) Boes, Zach (Margot) Riesberg, and Hannah Riesberg along with the loves of her heart-her great grandchildren, Brady & Maggie Farnan, Anna Boes & Harrison Riesberg. Margaret was preceded in death in her journey to eternal life by her husband, Raymond, her brother, Joe Dunn & sister-in-law, Marguerite Dunn. Memorials can be made for Masses for the repose of her soul or if you please, you can make your memorial donation to the charity of your choice.
