Description	:	Obituary-Margaret Gifford. Margaret Ellen Clark was born April, 18,1847 in Jefferson County,Ohio, and died October 8,1929, aged 82 years,5 months and 20 days. At the age of 12 she moved with her widowed mother to Wisconsin, where she grew to womanhood. On February 13, 1868, she was United in marriage to William Gifford. Margaret Ellen Clark was born April, 18,1847 in Jefferson County,Ohio, and died October 8,1929, aged 82 years,5 months and 20 days. At the age of 12 she moved with her widowed mother to Wisconsin, where she grew to womanhood. On February 13, 1868, she was United in marriage to William Gifford. To this union were born two sons, Joseph W. and James A. In 1884, the family came to Kansas and settled on a farm north of Concordia, where they resided seven years. In 1891 they moved to Oregon and lived two years, coming back to Kansas from there and purchasing a farm west of Jamestown, where they lived until 1905 at which time they moved to Jamestown which was her home until August 1928 when she moved to Waterville, making her home with her son Joseph W. Gifford until the time of her death. She was united with the Methodist Episcopal Church at North Bend, Wisconsin. After moving to Jamestown, she transferred her membership to the Methodist Episcopal Church of Jamestown of which she was still a member. She was also a member of the Jamestown Chapter No.361, Order Of The Eastern Star. Her husband preceded her in death twenty years. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons, Joseph W. of Waterville, and James A. of Clifton, Kansas, also five grandchildren, Mrs Myrtle Lawrence, Luray, Kansas , Margaret, Ruth, Georgia and Samuel J.Gifford. Funeral services were held at the Jamestown Methodist Church on last Thursday afternoon at two o clock, conducted by Reverend D.B.Magee of Concordia, assisted by Reverend I.T. Allen, of Jamestown. Interment was made in the family lot at the Jamestown cemetery."
