Description	:	Margaret (Edge) Dickson, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, widow of Wilber Lee Dickson, died Monday, November 28, 2011, at St. Francis Hospital. A native of Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Roper Edge, Sr. and Lillie Mae (Johnson) Edge. She was a lifelong member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church; always active and serving many years as Sunday School teacher, choir member, assistant pianist, assistant organist, and leader in the Women's Missionary Union. A native of Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Roper Edge, Sr. and Lillie Mae (Johnson) Edge. She was a lifelong member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church; always active and serving many years as Sunday School teacher, choir member, assistant pianist, assistant organist, and leader in the Women's Missionary Union. Mrs. Dickson attended the Poplar Springs Elementary School and graduated Valedictorian of the Duncan High School Class of 1943. She was also a graduate of Cecil's Business College of Spartanburg, SC. She began her secretarial and bookkeeping career at Mayfair Mills and continued working in the Spartanburg Greenville area until she retired as Financial Secretary of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda D. and Harley G. Babb, III, of Moore and Iris D. and Kevin S. Waters of Cary, NC; a brother, Charles M. Edge of Spartanburg; two sisters, Cornelia E. Rhinehart of Moore and Carolyn E. Bridwell of Woodruff; five grandchildren, Elizabeth L. Babb, J. David Babb, Carolyn B. Spaar, Lauren M. Waters and Taylor S. Waters; and one great-grandchild, Haylee B. Babb. Mrs. Dickson was predeceased by one brother, Henry R. Edge, Jr. Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2011 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Robert Bevill. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011 at The Wood Mortuary. Memorials were made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church Challenge to Build Fund, Moore, SC.
