Margaret was born on April 1, 1917, in Oak Mills, Kansas, the daughter of George W. and Jessie (Rolston) Sacks. Read More	Margaret Edith Shrader, 96, Atchison, Kansas, died Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Atchison Medicalodge. Margaret was born on April 1, 1917, in Oak Mills, Kansas, the daughter of George W. and Jessie (Rolston) Sacks. Being an April fools baby she always enjoyed playing little tricks on family and friends. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1935. Margaret worked as a seamstress for Horton Garment Factory, Atchison, for 4½ years, but spent most of her life as a homemaker and housewife. She was an active member of the Cummings United Methodist Church, was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star and held most of all the other offices in the OES. She was a member of the Family County Extension for over 70 years , was active as a 4-H leader, involved with the Atchison County Fair, and the Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed baking, sewing, playing cards, quilting and playing bingo. Margaret also wrote many articles for the St. Joseph Newspress – Young of Heart Section. She was married to Abbott Shrader on September 11, 1935, in Easton, Kansas. Mr. Shrader preceded her in death on June 29, 2004. Survivors include two sons John A. Shrader, Atchison, and Dwight L. (Neola) Shrader, Bendena, Kansas, a sister Rhoda Kathryn Sacks, Raytown, Missouri, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her parents, husband Abbott, and brother James S. Sacks all preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Petering officiating. Burial will follow in Muscotah Cemetery, Muscotah, Kansas.
