Description	:	Funeral services for Margaret E. Green, age 84, of Niobrara, Nebraska, will be Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Niobrara Lutheran Church. Pastor Kelley Pedersen will officiate with burial in L'Eau Qui Court Cemetery at Niobrara. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Niobrara, Nebraska. Margaret died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Good Samaritan Society in Bloomfield, Nebraska. Margaret Elizabeth (Fritz) Green, daughter of Joe and Bessie (Howard) Fritz was born on January 31, 1925 at a farm west of Niobrara, Nebraska. She attended Niobrara Public School graduating in 1944. After high school she taught school in Santee, Nebraska. She then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and worked at the Mead Munitions Plant. On August 25, 1947, she married Earle W. Green in Yankton, South Dakota. They made their home in Niobrara. Four children were born to them, Ron, Cheryl, Vicki and Patricia. Margaret worked with Earle in his vegetable garden business and was a homemaker. In 1967, Earle and Margaret went into the café business. When the Corp of Engineers moved the town in the early 1970's they built a café and home in the new Niobrara. Earle died in 1978 and Margaret continued to operate the business until 2000 when it was sold. She was in business for 37 years enjoying every minute of it. She loved to visit with people and never forgot a name. There were never too many dull moments when she was around. She was an avid Niobrara promoter. She served on numerous boards in Niobrara, including 25 years on the Niobrara Housing Authority. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW. She helped promote the new state park in Niobrara. This held a special place in her heart. She leaves to mourn her three children, Ron and wife Sue of Norfolk, NE, Cheryl and husband Dallas Olson of North Bend, NE and Vicki Uhlir of Norfolk, NE; ten grandchildren, Alicia Kuester of Pierce, NE, Chad and wife Sarah Ruda and Tonya Ruda all of Fremont, NE, Ashley Green of Lincoln, NE, Jordan Green of Omaha, NE, Troy and wife Suzanne Uhlir of Norfolk, NE, Tony and wife Mary Uhlir of Sidney, NE, Todd and wife Carrie Uhlir of Norfolk, NE, Tom and wife Jen Uhlir of Omaha, NE, Tyrone and wife Jenny of Nashville, TN; 26 great grandchildren; two sisters, JoAnn of Torrington, WY and Maryiln of Springfield, CO; two brothers, Gary of Niobrara, NE and Stan of Meza, AR; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle; daughter, Patricia; great grandson, Wesley Kuester; parents; sister, Jeanie Hill; and step-mother, Doris Fritz.
