When a young girl she, with her widowed mother, three brothers and two sisters came to Albany, Illinois, at which place she was united in marriage to George D. Van Nest, on April 8, 874, They lived in Illinois until the year 1881 when they came to Iowa, residing in various places, fourteen years of which time was spent... Van Nest Lived Here Fourteen Years - Margaret Elizabeth Nicewonger, the youngest daughter of Joseph and Margaret Nicewonger, was born in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, Feb. 6, 1855 and died Friday Jan. 25th. When a young girl she, with her widowed mother, three brothers and two sisters came to Albany, Illinois, at which place she was united in marriage to George D. Van Nest, on April 8, 874, They lived in Illinois until the year 1881 when they came to Iowa, residing in various places, fourteen years of which time was spent in Sheffield, Iowa. Throughout her entire life she was a devout Christian and at the time of her death was a member of the Congregational church at Hampton,Iowa. Her husband preceded her in death, September 12, 1907. She is survived by three sons G. W. and C. B Van Nest, of Sheffield and R.D. Van Nest, of Stockton, California and two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Davidson, of Mason City and Mrs. Cora Runton, of Sheffield. The funeral was held at the home of her son C. B. Van Nest at Sheffield, Monday January 28th. the Rev. F. O. Hillman, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church officiating. Burial was made in the Hampton cemetery.
