Description	:	Margaret Elizabeth Stewart was born in Allegheny Co., Pa. Nov. 21 1853 and died Feb. 16, 1909. Aged fifty-five years, two months and twenty-four days.In the year of 1854 she came with her parents to Van Buren county Iowa, and has since made her home near Stockport.On, July 14, 1875 she was united in marriage with Armstrong Archibald. To this happy union were born seven children, two girls and five boys. Ray G., Otto C., Frank J., Roscoe A. and Feree R., also an aged mother, one sister, Mrs. Susan Young of Oklahoman and five brothers, James Stewart of Missouri, Frank Stewart of Oklahoma, Wm. Stewart of Montana, Al Stewart of Nebraska and John Stewart of Hamburg, Iowa Besides these she leaves a number of other relatives and a great host of friends.At the age of 33 she united with the East Union M.E. church and remained]ed a faithful member of the same until her death.Rev. Mayo in a very able and touching manner preached her funeral sermon at the M.E. church in Stockport Thursday, at 11 o'clock a.m. the entire seating capacity being filled. Special music was furnished by Messrs. McCarty and Smith singing that beautiful and appropriate hymn "Saved by Grace".The Ladies Aid of which she was an influential and much loved member formed in procession, wearing honorary badges, six of the elderly number acting as pall bearers, they were Mesdames Bales, Fickle, Newman, Oldt, Philips, and Morris. She was laid to rest in the Fordyce cemetery by her father and little daughters where spring time will form it's carpet of green, o'er another mound of sacred earth.Mrs. Armstrong was well and favorably known to all in this community and her absence casts a shadow that lingers not only in the home circles, but reaches far into the hearts of all her acquaintances, who bear a message of sympathy to Mr. Archibald and sons.When the roses bloom again and twittering birds from leafy boughs, swaying in brightest sunshine lend their cheer, we still shall miss the sweet face, the gentle voice, the light footstep of this devoted wife, loving mother and excellent neighbor and constant friend."
