Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, Sept. 18 from the Methodist Church at Allerton, conducted by Rev. H. B. Fay, with burial in the Allerton Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Troster, and her son, Ray. She is survived by two grandsons, Raymond Troster of Corydon and Richard Troster of Allerton, and two great-grandchildren, Sherry Sue and Billy Troster of Corydon. The Times Republican, September 18, 1947, p. 1, Corydon, Iowa Obituary – Mrs. Margaret Troster Mrs. Margaret Eveline Troster, a life long resident of Wayne County passed away at her home in Allerton Tuesday afternoon at 2:20 p.m. at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 7 days. She was born on a farm in Benton Township March 9, 1870, the daughter of John R. and Katherine Niday. She was united in marriage to John A. Troster Aug. 1, 1886, who preceded her in death Jan. 14, 1943. To this union, one son was born, Ray W. Troster who preceded her in death Nov. 2, 1937. Mrs. Troster had appeared in good health on Monday evening, but on Tuesday forenoon when her grandson, Richard Troster called at her home he found her in a coma. She passed away shortly after being found. She has been a member of the First Methodist Church since early womanhood, to which she has been a faithful member and a hard worker. She was a member of the WCTU having served as county treasurer for many years. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 7 brothers. She is survived by one brother, Frank Niday, of Corydon; two grandsons, Raymond Troster of Corydon and Richard of Allerton; one daughter-in-law, Roxey K. Troster and two great grandchildren, Sherry Sue and William Troster. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon in the First Methodist Church at Allerton at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Fay officiating. Burial was in Allerton cemetery. Pallbearers were Kermit, Zern, Veron, Ernest, Vernon and Floyd Niday of Kansas City, Mo. Singers were Mrs. Vern Bettis and Mrs. Charles Shelton.
