She was born in Ellensburg on December 3, 1916, a daughter of Frank and Marie (Bachmann) Mudd and was raised in a blended family of 16 children. She was born in Ellensburg on December 3, 1916, a daughter of Frank and Marie (Bachmann) Mudd and was raised in a blended family of 16 children. She received her education in area schools, including the old No. 12 Denmark Grade School and graduated in 1935 from Kittitas Union High School. Prior to 1957, when she married Jim Strang and moved to Moscow, Idaho, she was employed in local restaurants--the Diamond 5 and 10 Cent Store and Safeway. In connection with Jim's work as traveling auditor for the Supreme Lodge, Loyal Order of Moose, they traveled throughout the United States. They retired in 1983 in Bandon, Oregon and two years later, moved to Yakima. Following the death of her husband, Margaret returned to Ellensburg. Her interests included doing crafts and in earlier years, she enjoyed bowling and dancing. Survivors include her son, Del (Debbie) Herrick of Fairbanks, Alaska; a daughter, Donna (Gene) Anderson of Naches; three sisters, Elma Spletzer, Catherine "Tad" Wells and Clara Adams, all of Ellensburg; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visitation for friends and family will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 16 at Affordable Funeral Care, 101 E. Second Avenue. Following cremation, inurnment will beat IOOF Cemetery. Memorial service arrangements will be announced. A memorial dinner will be held at 4 p.m., April 16 at the Moose Lodge in Ellensburg.
