Cowgar who was a private in Company C, 39th Iowa Volunteer Infantry. Surviving is an adopted daughter, Mrs. Frank Smith of Sierra Madera, Cal., and a niece, Mrs. J. M. Smith of Tacoma, and a brother, J. H. Thomas of Hillyard, Wash. Hill's Funeral Home at Puyallup will make the funeral announcement.
