Description	:	BRUNSWICK--Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Brauer, 73, were conducted, Sunday, Jan. 3 at the Community Church with the Rev. Donald Beckenhauer, former pastor of the Neligh Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was in the Brunswick Cemetery. The rites were postponed from New Years Day because of the storm. Mrs. Brauer died at a Sioux City, Iowa hospital, Dec. 27 after undergoing surgery five days earlier. She had been in failing health for a number of years, while living at her home in Brunswick. Margaret Gratje Null was born on a farm in Plymouth County, Iowa, near Struble, on Feb. 5, 1886 to William R. and Etta Null. Her childhood was spent on her parents' farm with her seven brothers and three sisters. She attended school there and later a dressmaking school in LeMars, Iowa. On May 28, 1917 she was married to Peter F. Brauer at LeMars. Two daughters, Lila and Anna, were born to them and one son, Paul, who died in 1940. Mr. Brauer passed away July 8, 1952. Shortly after their marriage the Brauers began farming near LeMars. In March, 1922, they moved to a farm near Royal, where they lived for a year, before moving to the farm three miles south of Brunswick, which was their home until their deaths. She was a member of the Community Church. Survivors include her two daughters, Mrs. Lila Johring of Clearwater and Mrs. Anna Turner of Paramount, Calif.; five grandchildren; one brother and three sisters. ...The Creighton News 7 Jan 1960
