Kirby,and following this the remains were followed to Lamartine(Perrysville) where the funeral sermon was preached by her former pastor,the venerable Rev.WI.Stevens of this place.Mrs. Minnick was born On the James Amos Cant near this village,Nov.23,1820.Her mother died when she was 8 yrs.old,following this bereavement she went to live with family... Kirby,and following this the remains were followed to Lamartine(Perrysville) where the funeral sermon was preached by her former pastor,the venerable Rev.WI.Stevens of this place.Mrs. Minnick was born On the James Amos Cant near this village,Nov.23,1820.Her mother died when she was 8 yrs.old,following this bereavement she went to live with family of Peter Fadley at Hanver.Here she remained two yrs. and then went to Perrysville,where in Oct.1833,she joined the Methodist church.At that time meetings of worshipers were held in various places,the meeting at which she embraced the Faith were held in a barn owned by Malon Stuart-often in places quite as crude,in private residences and in various places in and out of doors.When she arrived at the age of 19 yrs.she went to Kentucky to live with her father.The deceased was the mother of 6 children.One son she gave to her country on the battlefield of the 1861 Rebellion.Two daughters also preceded her to the Better Land.Her husband died 16 yrs.ago,since when she has made her home with her children,three of whom survive her:Mr.M.L.Minnick of South Bend,In.Mr. J.M.Minnick of Akron,Oh.and Mrs.Rev.S.F.Wood of Mcconnelsville,Ohio.Mrs Minnick was but 13 yrs of age when she embraced religion and thus leaves the glorious life.She was a loving mother,a devoted friend !A consistent Christian.Her life was that of labor of love,a benediction to all who knew her.Her pathway has been made to glow by loving deeds throughout her long pilgrimage.through all the long weeks of her last sickness which began about April 1.She was a great sufferer firm dropsy,yet her prayer was"Help me to be patient.I want to be submissive."at other time,"Dear Lord take me Home."She was very anxious to depart and greet the larger group of loved ones gone before.Her mind was clear until almost the very last,when she peacefully fell asleep-not dead for God had taken her. We wait alittle while in the shadow while she has gone on in the brightness to the "Beautiful Home."
