Anton Nicholas Pint was born on February 2, 1833 in Rhine , Germany . He came to the United States in 1856, lived in Ohio and later in Chicago , Illinois . Anton Nicholas Pint was born on February 2, 1833 in Rhine , Germany . He came to the United States in 1856, lived in Ohio and later in Chicago , Illinois . Margaret Johanns was born in 1836 at Luxemburg. Margaret and Anton Pint were married in 1861. Their Chicago home was at the site of the present Cook County Courthouse. Margaret and Anton were the parents of eight children; one that probably died as infant, John, Katherine, Helen, William, Veronica, Anna, and George. John was born on June 24, 1863 in Chicago , Illinois . He married Sophia Braun. John passed away on November 20, 1914 in Osage, Iowa and is buried at the Sacred Heart Cemetery , Osage. Katherine and Helen were twins born on May 12, 1865 in Chicago , Illinois . Katherine died in infancy, Helen remained single all her life. She was a seamstress, traveling to homes throughout the area, staying days or weeks at a time with various families until the family wardrobes were completed for the season. Her talent was in much demand as ready mades or factory mades were not that plentiful. Room and board were furnished while sewing. Her account book shows she earned $143.50 for 1926 from about 30 different families. About 1910, Helen homesteaded on the S.E. quarter of Section 35-3-20 in Haakon County , South Dakota . She lived in a sod dwelling. A horse provided her transportation. In 1914, while at Philip , South Dakota , she was very active in the Philip Equal Franchisee League working toward the XIX amendment granting the right of voting to women. Motto: Equal rights to men and women alike. Helen returned to Mitchell County in 1919 and established her home in Stacyville where she continued her work as a seamstress. Helen passed away on January 14, 1929 following a fall causing her leg to become paralyzed and pernicious anemia. She is buried at the Osage Cemetery., Osage, Iowa . William was born on April 21, 1867 in Chicago , Illinois . He married Anna Gilles. William passed away on August 11, 1951 in Springfield , Missouri and is buried at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Haven , Iowa . Veronica was born on January 6, 1869 in Chicago , Illinois . She married Frank Steiger. Veronica passed away on June 22, 1943 in Stacyville , Iowa and is buried in Stacyville. Anna was born on May 1, 1871 in Burr Oak Township , Mitchell County, Iowa. She married Michael Wagner. Anna passed away on January 9, 1940 in Springfield , Missouri and is buried in Springfield . George was born on March 20, 1873 in Burr Oak Township , Mitchell County, Iowa. He married Charlotte Fuller. George passed away on January 4, 1948 in Osage, Iowa and is buried at the Osage Cemetery , Osage. The Pints were members of the Catholic Church at New Haven . At the time of their arrival in Mitchell County , itinerant priests served the gatherings of members, St. Peter's Church was built in 1877. Margaret passed away on March 23, 1873 and is buried at the Osage Cemetery , Osage, Iowa . Anton, with the help of his daughter Helen, raised the family. About 1899, Anton sold his quarter section in Burr Oak Township to Dan Sullivan for $40.00 an acre. He moved to his son John's home near Meyer, Mitchell County, Iowa. Anton passed away there on September 2, 1905 and is buried at the Sacred Heart Cemetery , Meyer , Iowa .
