She was born in Bassett, Neb. on July 5, 1908, the daughter of Joseph and Fannie Hlinovsky Koftan. She was united in marriage to Edwin Joseph (Red) Langhammer on November 25, 1937. She was born in Bassett, Neb. on July 5, 1908, the daughter of Joseph and Fannie Hlinovsky Koftan. She was united in marriage to Edwin Joseph (Red) Langhammer on November 25, 1937. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1988. Survivors include five sons, Bill, Carl and Vern Langhammer of Clarence, Jim Langhammer of Mountain Home, Ark. and Paul Langhammer of Paris; five daughters, Mary Wood of Jacksonville, Becky Copenhaver and Jean Cunningham, of O'Fallon, Marge Gander of Shelbyville and Myrna Carothers of Clarence; and 24 grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Dean Langhammer on August 28, 1984 and an infant son, Edwin Joseph Langhammer Jr.; five brothers and six sisters. Mrs. Langhammer was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She had lived most of her life in Shelby County. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on October 31 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Clarence. Father Leo Buhman and Msgr. John Mahoney were the celebrants. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence.
