Death followed an illness of two years. Margaret L. Voigtlander, daughter of the late Theodore and Fannie Voigtlander, was born March 3, 1879, on a farm three miles east of Geneva. She attended rural school and also Geneva high school. While a girl, she united with the Episcopalian church and she remained a member of that church throughout her life. April 10, 1899, she was united in marriage to Frank Battle. They made their home in Geneva except for a short time spent in Blue Hill and Valentine. Two sons, Donald and Russell, were born to this union. She was a member of the Silver Link Rebekah lodge, the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Cvil War and the O.T.O. kensington of Geneva. She was a good wife and mother and always gained friends wherever she went. She is survived by her husband; two sons, at home; three sisters, Mrs. W. R. Fultz of Hyattville, Wyo., Mrs. Edward Griess of Kearney and Mrs. George Ward of Geneva; nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends. Funeral services were held Saturday morning, November 27, at the Hrubesky - Farmer Funeral Home in Geneva, with Rev. Father George D. Griffen of the York Episcopal church officiating. Mrs Gerald Pickerell was vocal soloist. She was accompanied by Mrs. Willard Foster. Pallbearers were W. W. Biegert, Marlin Domeier, Deo Fisher, Paul O'Brien, Carl Schneider and Clifford Wilson. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
