Description	:	Margaret L. Brown, 81, died at 12:50 a.m. July 27, 2009, at her residence. She was born Nov. 26, 1927, in Ada, Okla., to William and Cordia Ethel Pratt, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 11, 1945, she married Roy Brown, who died Aug. 28, 1969. Mrs. Brown retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Delphos, after 20 years, where she was the first female employee at the Delphos Post Office. On Jan. 11, 1945, she married Roy Brown, who died Aug. 28, 1969. Mrs. Brown retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Delphos, after 20 years, where she was the first female employee at the Delphos Post Office. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Delphos, and its Star Class. She assisted her daughter in Florida to help an American Indian organization called The White Buffalo Shawl Society. She had been a member of the Blue Star Mothers Club. She loved to paint ceramics and canvas. Survivors include two sons, Larry Brown, of Delphos, and Jeffery (Carol Norris) Brown, of Richburg, S.C.; two daughters, Marilyn Goodenough, of Elida, and Roijean Maas, of Vero Beach, Fla.; a sister, Doris Russell, of Edmund, Okla.; and 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, an infant and George William; a daughter, Janet Illig; three sisters, Bernice Carson, Lois Mattioli and Robbie Aliff; and four brothers, Ed, Olan, Howard and Perry Pratt. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Delphos. The Rev. Ron Lumm will officiate. Burial will be private at a later date. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Lupus Foundation or Star Class.
