Church. ``````` Ulysses Dispatch (Ulysses, Nebr.), November 25, 1943, p. 5, col. 4 Mrs. Osborn Mrs. Maggie Flynn Osborn was born at Del Ray, Ill., April 26, 1861 and died at her home in Seward, Nebr., November 19, 1943, age 82 years, 6 months and 24 days. When she was four years old, her parents moved to Gilman, Ill., and later, when she was fourteen, the family moved to Burlington, Ia., in the customary "Covered Wagon." The following year they moved to Seward county, Nebraska. She was married to George Osborn on April 16, 1879 who two years before, had settled on a homestead west of Staplehurst. Here the family lived, carrying on the usual farm work until the death of the father who passed away ih 1914. Three years later, mother moved to Seward, but the homestead is still hers at the time of her homegoing. The Lord graciously entrusted them with nine children, two of whom died in infancy. Those still living are Mrs. Conrad Reinmiller of Staplehurst, Mrs. Earl Hand of Lincoln, Mrs. Burr Hughes of Seward. The sons are, Walter of Seward, Edward now of California, Ray at home and Ralph of San Francisco, California. She also leaves twenty grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lovell of Seward, Mrs. Nellie Schaffer of Hot Springs, Ark., and one brother, Edward Flynn of Seward. From her childhood, the departed was devoted to the expression of her Christian faith and fellowship in the church, which she faithfully attended as long as her strength permitted. As a good neighbor and willing helper in times of joy or sorrow, she was much beloved, for such were the services gladly rendered by those pioneer mothers and home makers. Of her, it can be truly said, "Her children rise up and call her blessed," and their combined tribute to her is expressed in the following lines, gathered like a fragant boquet.
