On February 6, 1879 at Red Oak, Iowa, she was married to John W. Price. The couple shared in the pioneering spirit of their day and migrated westward in a covered wagon to Cheyenne county in October 1885. PRICE Mrs. Margaret M. Price, daughter of Peter and Lydia Frain, was born at Macedonia, Iowa, September 20, 1861. On February 6, 1879 at Red Oak, Iowa, she was married to John W. Price. The couple shared in the pioneering spirit of their day and migrated westward in a covered wagon to Cheyenne county in October 1885. They homesteaded their place and built a sod house and planted themselves firmly in Kansas soil. Mrs. Price has three surviving children: Mattie Lindsten and Fay Price of St. Francis, and Roy Price of McPherson, Kans. Three children preceded her death: Freddie -- August 19, 1893; Peter -- February 18, 1935; and Fern -- August 18, 1937. Besides three living children she is survived by thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and other relatives. Her husband passed away June 5, 1905 and she undertook the responsibility of raising the family. She moved into St. Francis in April 1919, and has resided here since that time. She became a Christian in the Jaqua community and was baptized in the old-fashioned manner in the river. She was a member in good standing of the First Christian Church in St. Francis. She passed away quietly at her home in St. Francis on October 5th following a lingering illness having attained the age of 90 years and 15 days. Her family pay her this high tribute: "She was a wonderfull mother and grandmother." Services were held in the First Christian Church in St. Francis on October 7, 1951 with the Rev. Wilmer Leeds officiating. Burial was in the Lawn Ridge Cemetery. Sacred numbers were sung by Mrs. Leone Stone and Miss Lillie Gillespie. Pallbearers were grandsons. John and Argyle, Delmont and Delmar Price, Alfred and John Lindsten.
