She was born Oct. 16, 1884 in England to Thomas and Mary Hall. She came to the United States at the age of two and settled first in Michigan and later moved to South Dakota where her father worked at Homestake Mine, and later homesteaded on Alkali Divide. She was married to Niels Jorensen at Rapid City on Dec. 23, 1903. They ranched on Antelope Creek until Jorensen died in 1947. She continued to live there until 1949 when she moved into Sturgis to make her home. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Lutheran Church. Survivors include one daughter Ellen Stoddard of Shell, WY, and two sons, Thomas (Pete) and Fred, both of Pleasant Valley; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, two daughters: Mary Baiers and Mabel McNenny, one son, Kenneth, and her husband.
