Description	:	Big Timber Pioneer, December 3, 1993 Margaret Bruffey Keener, 81, passed away Saturday, November 27, at her home in Laurel. She was born on February 10, 1912, the daughter of Martin and Sina Opland on the home ranch near Gibson. She attended school in Olympia, Washington and graduated from Sweet Grass County High School in Big Timber. Margaret attended Normal College in Dillon, Montana receiving her teaching certificate. After teaching more than 20 yeara in rural schools in the Big Timber area and in the Big Timber Grade School she received her Bachelor Degree in education from MSU in Bozeman.... She was born on February 10, 1912, the daughter of Martin and Sina Opland on the home ranch near Gibson. She attended school in Olympia, Washington and graduated from Sweet Grass County High School in Big Timber. Margaret attended Normal College in Dillon, Montana receiving her teaching certificate. After teaching more than 20 yeara in rural schools in the Big Timber area and in the Big Timber Grade School she received her Bachelor Degree in education from MSU in Bozeman. She retired from teaching in 1976. She married Ward Bruffey on May 24, 1936. They ranched in the Boulder, Garneill, and Big Timber Creek areas until Ward retired and they moved into Big Timber in 1968. Ward passed away in November of 1977. Margaret married Bernard Keener on May 16, 1982. They traveled etensively until her illness She is survived by her husband Bernard, of Laurel; a daughter Sonja Marchwick, and son-in-law, Jim, of Bozeman; three grandsons Jim of Van Nuys, California, David of Boeman, and Wayne of Arcata, CA; one sister, Evelyn Sorenson of Harlowton; three nieces and one nephew; five stepchildren, Ron Keener of Laurel, Kathleen Eastman of Portland, Oregon, Jack Keener of Wasilla, Alaska, Karen McManus of Whitefish, and Gary Keener of Wasilla, AK: 16 step-grandchildren; and 13 step great cgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Funeral services were Tuesday from the eBig Timber Lutheran Church with burial in Mountian View Cemetery.
