Read More	Fairfield Daily Ledger September 3, 1937 Miss Margaret Roach passed away at her home in East Pleasant Plain, Aug. 15, 1937. Miss Roach's health had been failing for sometime, but she was always so cheerful, but she was always so cheerful her dear ones scarcely realized that it was so serious. On July 3 she submitted to a very serious operation at the Jefferson County hospital. For six weeks she was tenderly cared for by her loved ones, and everything that medical science and best of nursing could do was done, but all to no avail. She quietly and peacefully slipped to her Heavenly home. She bore her afflictions cheerfully and uncomplainingly. Her faith in the teachings of her religion sustained her in her sufferings. Margaret was the daughter of the late Edmond and Margaret Roach. She was born in Jefferson County, two miles south of Salina, Jan. 30, 1875, where her childhood, girlhood and school days were happily spent. After the death of her parents, the family home was broken, and Margaret with her brother Mike went to Detroit, Minn., where thy made their home for five years. They returned to Jefferson county in 1917. Margaret purchased an interest in a store in East Pleasant Plain, and with her sister Ellen they established a home near the store. By her pleasing manner she won many friends and retained them as could be attested by the large attendance at the funeral. Margaret was of a social, lively disposition, always ready to rejoice with her friends in their good fortune, and to sympathize with them in their sorrows. Her whole life has been an example of faith, charity, love, benevolence and patience. Even in her last days she was still so thoughtful of ?ad those dear ones around her. Miss Roach leaves to mourn beside her sister Ellen, with whom she has been inseparable for the past 20 years, Mrs. Mary McDermott, Mrs. Kate McDavitt and Matt Roach all of Ottumwa; Will Roach of Beckwith; Tom Roach of Albia and Dave of Cantril and hosts of friends.
