Mrs. Margrave is survived by four children; Mrs. Julia LeClere and William C. Margrave, of Margrave's Ranch, James T. Margrave, of Preston, and Earl Margrave, of Gordon, Nebr. Her niece, Miss Nannie Margrave, made her home with Mrs. Margrave, and stood in almost the same relation as a child. The death of Mrs. Margrave means that one of the grandest women of Brown County has passed on. In her long life on the ranch north of Hiawatha, Mrs. Margrave endeared herself to all because of her many noble acts. She was known as "Aunt Maggie" to all her close friends. Her life was one of service for others and many is the person for whom she made the road of this life smoother. Helpfulness seemed her motto. And during the war it seemed that the desire to do good took a fresh momentum and Mrs. Margrave, her sons and daughters, were among the leaders in local war work. Since Mrs. Margrave and Miss Nannie moved to Hiawatha, the residents have noted the close companionship that existed between the grown children and mother, and the great love and affection shown by the grandchildren. The Margrave home in town was visited every day by some of the relatives. It has been one of the best examples of an ideal family life. The spirit of the mother passes down to the children and the grandchildren. They have learned the lesson of helpfulness from the mother, as they attained so many good traits from the father who died several years ago. The sons and daughters are the same power for good that the parents were before them. And it must be most consoling to the stalwart sons, the kindly daughters - for it seems that the niece stood in the family circle as a daughter, and the tender, considerate grandchildren, to think that up to the last they lived in work and in home in a way that brought the greatest comfort to mother.
