Description	:	Margaret McCarty, age 99, of Brookville, Indiana died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville, Indiana. Born February 6, 1911 in Richmond, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Howard L. & Mary (Kurtz) Snider. She was a graduate of the former Short High School in Liberty, and Miami Jacobs Business College in Dayton, Ohio. On June 23, 1934 she was united in marriage to Walter McCarty, and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1993. Read More	Margaret McCarty, age 99, of Brookville, Indiana died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville, Indiana. Born February 6, 1911 in Richmond, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Howard L. & Mary (Kurtz) Snider. She was a graduate of the former Short High School in Liberty, and Miami Jacobs Business College in Dayton, Ohio. On June 23, 1934 she was united in marriage to Walter McCarty, and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1993. She lived much of her life in Franklin County, Indiana and had been employed at Standard Motor Parts in Brookville for over 30 years. She was a member of the Brookville United Methodist Church; the United Methodist Women; the Brookville Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #449; as well as the Tri Kappa Sorority Associate Chapter. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Alice Helms of Brookville, Indiana, Julia Riggs of Connersville, Indiana; and Ellen Anderson of Kokomo, Indiana; seven grandchildren ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Snider; as well as two brothers, John Snider and Howard Kurtz Snider, a son-in-law, Don Helms; and a granddaughter, Nicole Riggs Simpson. Rev. Curtis Bond will officiate the Funeral Services on Friday, August 20, 2010, 10:00 A.M., at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will then follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville. Family & friends may visit from 5 till 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
