She was baptized on August 12, 1917, at Christ Lutheran Church and confirmed on March 29, 1931, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Margaret graduated from Columbus High School. Margaret was united in marriage to Raymond Wilke on July 21, 1942. They farmed in rural Platte and Colfax Counties until they retired and moved to Columbus in May of 1985. Prior to her marriage, Margaret worked part-time at J.C. Penney and also did house cleaning. Margaret was a member of Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and a charter member of the Christ Lutheran Ladies Aid where she held the office of treasurer for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking meals for them, reading, and traveling.
