ADAM DOLMAGE DIED AT HER HOME IN EVANSTON, ILLINOIS, MONDAY The funeral service of Mrs. Adam Dolmage, who died Monday, January 15th; in Evanston, Illinois, was held Friday morning at 10:30 in the Methodist church, and was attended by several hundred of the friends of the deceased. The service was conducted by Rev. J. Delman Kuykendall pastor of the Congregational church of which Mrs. Dolmage was a member at the time of her death. Rev. J. F. Rex of the Methodist church read the scripture lesson, and the sermon was by Rev. C. E. Cushman of Monticello, pastor of the Congregational church here at the time Mrs. Dolmage resided in Victor. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Miss Mary Kerr, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ferguson, and N. K. Ross. Miss Alma Hovey was the pianist. The pallbearers were Lew Feller, Sam Hutzel, H. M. Chittenden, George Ocheltree, George Bushnell, and Max Speck. The students of the High School of which Miss Flora Dolmage, daughter of the deceased, is principal, attended the funeral in a body. Many life long friends of Mrs. Dolmage were in the congregation which filled the church, attesting the great love which was held for this splendid woman in the community where she had lived so long. The casket and altar were banked with floral offerings sent by many individuals and organizations. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. ---------------------------------------------------- Margaret Wilson was born December 19th, 1853, in Liverpool, England, and died January 15th, 1917, in Evanston, Illinois. She came to America with her mother, brother and sister when she was but four years old, and grew to womanhood in Davenport and near Walcott, Iowa. She was an earnest church worker and united with the Presbyterian church early in life. On coming to Victor, she joined the Congregational church, of which she was still a member at the time of her death. In February, 1876, she was united in marriage to Adam Dolmage, and to this union eleven children born. Two children, Lester and Mary, preceded her in death. Mrs. Dolmage spent her married life near Malcolm and Victor, Iowa until nine years ago, when she suffered a severe attack of gall stones, and later on two other attacks. Last year in December she was ill with pneumonia, from which she recovered, but did not regain her former strength. On January 9th, she was then suddenly ill with an acute attack of Bright's Disease and heart trouble. On Sunday she seemed much improved, and all had hopes of her recovery, but very suddenly Monday morning, she grew worse, and passed peacefully way at four o'clock. Mrs. Dolmage is survived by her husband, Adam Dolmage, but seven daughters, Flora Dolmage of Victor, Iowa; Mrs. Eva Ruble of California; Mrs. John Kane of Brooklyn, Iowa; Mrs. Robert Weeks of Omaha, Nebraska; the Misses Lillie, Edith and Edna Dolmage of Evanston, Illinois; and by two sons, Frank and Austin Dolmage of Victor, Iowa. In the death of Mrs. Dolmage there passed away one who was beloved by everyone who knew her. While there is sorry today in the hearts of hundreds who loved her in life and who love her in death and who cannot but grieve at the passing from earth of this woman who was so truly one of God's children, there is also great joy in the gracious memory of her gentle life in which she so splendidly fulfilled the three great functions of womanhood - for she was in the very truth a real mother, a real wife, a real friend.
