MARGARET GROTELUESCHEN PASSES AWAY Mrs. Margaret Grotelueschen, 82, passed away at 7:45 p.m. Monday, April 21, at the Lutheran hospital where she had been a patient since Thursday. As Margaret Boe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claus J. Boe, she was born July 21, 1864 at Holstein, Germany, and when three years of age came with her parents to the States and to Illinois. When still a small girl, she moved with her family to Platte county to since reside. In 1881 she married Henry Hellbusch who preceded her in death in about the year 1893. On Nov. 13, 1894 she married William Grotelueschen and they made their home 14 miles north of Columbus, until retiring from farming in 1931 when they moved into Columbus to reside until Mr. Grotelueschen's death in July, 1935. Mrs. Grotelueschen had since made her home with her children. She was confirmed in the Christ Lutheran church, and was a member of St. John's Lutheran church. She had formerly belonged to the Ladies Aid Society. Mrs. Grotelueschen is survived by three daughters, Mrs. F.W. Meinke of Kramer, Mrs. Herman Inselman of Creston, and Mrs. William Becher of Columbus; five sons, Herman Hellbusch of Columbus, Otto Hellbusch of Norfolk, Ernst Grotelueschen of Creston, Paul Grotelueschen of Seattle, Wash., and Enno Grotelueschen of Creston; 39 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; one sister, Miss Emma Boe of Shickley; and two brothers, Ed Boe of St. Edward and Emil Boe of Bakersfield, Calif. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mrs. Ernst Mueller of Columbus and Mrs. Otto Cordes of Wyckoff, N.J.; one son, William Grotelueschen of Columbus, and two children who died in infancy. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ernst Grotelueschen home at Creston, and at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church, with Rev. R.L. Ochs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Gass funeral home from 11 a.m. Wednesday until 9 a.m. Thursday when it will be taken to the Ernst Grotelueschen home to be until the hour of the service.
