Read More	Obituary (Published in The Benkelman Post and News-Chronicle (Benkelman, Nebraska) 17 Jun 1932, Fri, Page 5) Marjorie Edith Burgett was born near Max, Nebraska, June 12, 1924 and slipped away to be with her Savior at the home of her mother near Doane, Nebraska, June 8, 1932, just four days after her 8th birthday anniversary. Marjorie was a loving, obedient child in the home and possessed a personality which made her beloved by her playmates and all who met her. She was very much grieved over her disobedience which caused the sad accident which resulted in her death. She realized from the first that she could not survive the injury and told those around her bed that she was going. And, although everything that love and medical skill could do, was done to stay the hand of the silent reaper, she met the angel of death in trustful, childish faith. She leaves her mother, Mrs. Vica M. Burgett and three sister, Mrs. Ethel Draper of Stevensville, Montana, Mrs. Cynthia Ellis and Miss Lois Burgett of Benkelman, Nebraska; two grandfathers and a grandmother besides other relatives and associates who will greatly miss her and mourn her departure. A brother who passed away in infancy and her father, Lewis W. Burgett, who preceded her in death October 27, 1930, were awaiting her in the great beyond. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. E. Catlett of Haigler at the M. E. church in Benkelman Friday afternoon and interment was in the Benkelman cemetery. The singers were Mrs. Viva Updike, Mrs. Tilda Powell, Willard Marks and D. E. Gallatin, all of Max, which was formerly the home of the Burgett family. [RS]
