Description	:	Margery Ruth Jones, 70, of Elliott, IA, died Wednesday morning, July 25, 2001, at her home in Elliott following a lingering illness. Margery was born at Bridgewater, IA, on January 20, 1931, the daughter of William McKinley and Mable Amanda (Dennis) Fletcher. She attended schools in Cumberland, IA, and moved to Omaha her senior year and graduated from Technical High School in 1948. She worked for Mutual of Omaha and on October 22, 1950 was married to Robert G. Jones at the First Christian Church in Cumberland. They farmed east of Grant, IA until 1962. ... Margery was born at Bridgewater, IA, on January 20, 1931, the daughter of William McKinley and Mable Amanda (Dennis) Fletcher. She attended schools in Cumberland, IA, and moved to Omaha her senior year and graduated from Technical High School in 1948. She worked for Mutual of Omaha and on October 22, 1950 was married to Robert G. Jones at the First Christian Church in Cumberland. They farmed east of Grant, IA until 1962. She worked at Starlin Cafe in Grant from 1960-1962 and then worked at the Cass County Extension Office in Atlantic, IA until 1972. She then worked at the Farmers Mercantile Coop in Red Oak until she retired in 1991. Survivors include her husband, Bob, of Elliott; two daughters, Ruth Dickerson of Davenport, IA; and Merry Potter and her husband, Ken, of Elliott; and one son, Danny Jones and his wife Mary of Cumberland City, TN; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Also two sisters, Marilyn Westfall and her husband, Merlin, of Lodi, WI, Marlene Fletcher of Council Bluffs, IA; one brother, Ted Fletcher and his wife, Bonnie, of Council Bluffs survive. Margery was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one in infancy and a brother, Jerry. Funeral services were held Friday, July 27, 1:30 p.m. at the Duhn Funeral Home with Pastor Gerald Wiser officiating. Bearers were Adam Govig, Ken Potter, Junior Ramsey, Warren Jones, Jerry Jones and Ed Barnes. Interment was in the Grant Cemetery, Grant, IA.
