She taught in Flandreau, Egan, Rutland and Colman-Egan, retiring in 1999. She was a member of the Egan United Methodist Church, Moody County Museum, Egan City Council and Moody County Library Board. Survivors include two sons, Jim of Aurora, and Christopher of New York Mills, Minn.; two daughters, Laurie (Stacey) Miller of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Lisa Chamley of Pierre; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth on March 13, 1996; three brothers, Virgil, Ivan and John Valentine; and a sister, Evelyn.
