She was going about the ususal preparations of every homemaker for the Christmas holidays until Christmas Eve when she was taken ill, removed to the hospital for observation, where she was given surgical aid. On the afternoon of the twenty-eighth just as the first snow flakes began to fall the "Grim Power" came hovering about the hospital room, where the willing and sympathetic nurses and doctors fought so valantly with every power at their command. The end came quietly at nine o'clock. For those of us who knew and loved Margie the writer wishes to express a deep love and appreciation for those special and rare qualities which so endeared her to us - for she possessed a rare and unique character and personality which was always as benign and refreshing as a warm spring wind blowing from across open fields of fragrant flowers. She possessed a sweetness and depth of understanding coupled with a rich courageousness whose sole purpose was that of Emily Dickenson. "If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain. If I can ease one life the acking, Or cool one pain, Or help one fainting robin into his nest again, I shall not live in vain."
