She married Jeremiah Hopkins May 5, 1872 in Farmington, Missouri. Margaret and Jeremiah had 13 children. Obituary: "Mrs. Jerry Hopkins passes away: For the third time in less than that many years the death angel visited the home of Jeremiah Hopkins, of near Copenhagen. Wednesday afternoon, about 5 o'clock, this time claiming the beloved wife and mother of the home, Mrs. Margaret Ann Hopkins, aged 56 years, 11 months and 8 days. Two weeks ago, she was stricken with typhoid fever and, being in rather poor health anyway, her condition soon became very critical. However, she seemed to be some better on Wednesday, and it was thought for a while that a change for the better had come, but these hopes were soon to be shattered. The funeral service will be conducted by her pastor, Rev. L.M. Thompson, at the M.E. Church in Farmington, at 11 o'clock this morning, after which the body will be laid to rest in the Masonic Cemetery besides the bodies of her 2 sons who recently preceded her into death."
