Music was provided by the Sacred Heart Choir with Pat Heithoff as organist. Casketbearers were Marge's nieces and nephews. Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Templeton, Iowa. Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 13 after 4:00 p.m. A Rosary and Prayer Service were also held Tuesday, at 4 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Ohde Funeral Home Marguerite, daughter of James K. and Mary (Fox) Hoffman, was born January 29, 1904, near Templeton in Carroll County, Iowa. She attended rural school and then Sacred Heart grade school in Templeton. After the death of her father, she moved with her family to Lostwood, North Dakota. She continued her schooling and graduated from Stanley High School in Stanley, ND in 1923. She taught for two years after completing her Normal Training. Marge then attended beauty school in Minot, ND and taught there for many years. Marge was united in marriage with Paul Roach on July 17, 1926. They continued to live in North Dakota. In 1941, several years after their divorce, Marge moved to Cheyenne, WY where she worked in a defense plant during World War II for United Airlines. Then she worked in ladies ready-to-wear at Montgomery Wards for numerous years before starting with the Wyoming Department of Transportation. Marge worked part-time for Jones Department Store in Cheyenne after her retirement in 1969 from the Department of Transportation. In 1978 she moved back to Iowa living with her sister Bea in Templeton and a year later in Manning living first at Elm Crest ' Apartments then at the Community Apartments. Marge was very interested in politics and enjoyed playing cards and embroidery in her spare time. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Manning, Altar Society and VFW Auxiliary. She remained very active and lived on her own until 2003 when she became a resident of the Manning Plaza Nursing Home. After suffering a broken hip in June of 2005, her health continued to fail and she died at the Plaza in Manning on Saturday, September 10, 2005, at the age of 101 years, 7 months and 12 days. Preceding Marge in death are her parents; three sisters Bea Greteman, Evelyn Eby and Marcella Zervas; three brothers Joseph Hoffman, Eugene Hoffman and Nick Hoffman; two nephews Jim Greteman and Wayne Eby; and niece Neoma Schmit. She is survived by two nieces Rose Mary and husband Ken Frahm of Templeton and Dorothy and husband Tom Lanning of Omaha, NE; two nephews Jim Hoffman and wife Charlotte of Irving, TX and Robert Hoffman and wife Debra of Dearwood, MN; niece-in-law Lavonne Eby of Minot, ND; many great nieces and nephews and their families as well as other relatives and friends.
