She died Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer. Marguerite Morva Shors was born July 27, 1913, in Beemer to Joseph A. and Morva (Clayton) Shors. She attended kindergarten through 12th grade at Beemer Public Schools, graduating in 1931. She attended St. Catherine's School of Nursing in Omaha and returned to Beemer to care for her father who had suffered a stroke. She remained in Beemer and worked as a private nurse in homes under Doctors Crosby, Pearson, Thompson and Anderson. She married Floyd Nellor on Nov. 14, 1935, in Beemer. In the 1950s, Marguerite did private nursing at the West Point Hospital and Pender Community Hospital, but returned to full-time work as a clinical nurse at the Beemer Medical Clinic under Dr. Robert Kelly from 1959-1966. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Beemer, the Beemer-Wisner Eastern Star Chapter, belonged to the Junior, Beta, and Senior Federated Women's Club of Beemer, serving each as president and was the Federated Women's Club Cuming County President in 1967. She also was a 50-year member of the Royal Neighbors of America. She became active on the Beemer Library Board and became the librarian of the Karlen Memorial Library, retiring in 1992. She served the Village of Beemer as city clerk for 20 years. Her husband preceded her in death in 2002. She also was preceded in death by two brothers. The Rev. Scott Evans will officiate Friday's service. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in Beemer and will continue from 11 a.m. to service time at the church. Eastern Star services will be conducted by Wisner Star Chapter 149. Burial will be in Beemer Cemetery.
