Description	:	Maria was born to Martin and Bertha (Hermann) Schroeder on September 3, 1922 at her parents home near Staplehurst NE. She was the second of three children born to this union, having an older brother Erwin and a younger brother Elwin. She received the blessings of Holy Baptism on September 10, 1922, at Zion Lutheran Church, Marysville by Rev. Rittamel. Her sponsors were Maria Schroeder and Annette Duer. Read More	Maria was born to Martin and Bertha (Hermann) Schroeder on September 3, 1922 at her parents home near Staplehurst NE. She was the second of three children born to this union, having an older brother Erwin and a younger brother Elwin. She received the blessings of Holy Baptism on September 10, 1922, at Zion Lutheran Church, Marysville by Rev. Rittamel. Her sponsors were Maria Schroeder and Annette Duer. She attended parochial country school at Zion (Marysville) for all eight grades. She was welcomed as a communicant member at Zion through the rite of confirmation on May 17, 1936. being confirmed by Rev. F. Bangert. The confirmation verse given to her on this day was John 10:27-28; "My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me; and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." After completing her education, Maria helped her parents at home, and also worked for different families, including Ebner Winklemans, Herschel Ehlers, and Ted Luebbes. She worked at Gass Furniture, was a waitress at Buchannan's Café and Kamprath's Café, and worked at Hughes Brothers. It was during her time at Hughes Brothers that she met Roland Klintworth, the brother of her friend Marcella. Roland and Maria were married on December 27, 1953, at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, NE by Rev. Martin Yauk. They made their home on her parent's homeplace near Staplehurst, growing crops and milking cows. This union was blessed with three sons: Monty Ellis, Mitch Alan and Marty Roland. She was a former member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (Marysville), the Staplehurst Community Club and the Nebraska Dairy Women's Association, and a current member of the ARC of Seward County. In 1985, Maria & Roland moved to another farm east of Seward, and then to their present location along Highway 34 in 1992. They also transferred their church membership to Immanuel Lutheran- Middle Creek. Maria was very happy to see the family farm near Staplehurst receive the Nebraska Pioneer Farm Family Award in 1998, for 100 years of continuous ownership within her family. In January, 1998, Maria entered the Anna Sundermann East Home. There she continued to attend the religious services and was very appreciative of the monthly visits from her pastor, who brought communion to her. She visited with the residents and staff at the Home, and all were touched by her humor, as well as the "thank you" she offered for the services provided to her. Her grandsons were at the Home several times a week and she was always glad to see them come. It was also important for her to send birthday cards to her family and friends to let them know she was thinking of them and she enjoyed receiving mail and visits, She looked forward to outings and family get-togethers and reunions. In the past months she appreciated the visit from her brother and sister-in-law from Michigan, celebrated her 80th birthday and the 16th birthday of her grandson Dan, events she had looked forward to and enjoyed. On October 8, 2002, after having fought the good fight and keeping the faith, Maria finished the race and passed quickly and quietly into the waiting arms of Jesus, God granted her 80 years 1 month and 5 days on this earth but now she has an eternity with Him in Heaven. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Martin & Bertha Schroeder and her infant brother Erwin in 1915. She is survived by: her husband of 48 years, Roland Klintworth of rural Pleasant Dale, NE; her sons and daughters-in-law: Monty & Chris Klintworth of rural Pleasant Dale, NE; Mitch & Priscilla Klintworth of rural Seward, NE; and Marty Klintworth of David City, NE; her grandsons Daniel & Nathan Klintworth of rural Seward, NE; her brother and sister-in-law Elwin & Marilyn Schroeder of Shelby Township, MI; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marcella & Richard Ficke of Lincoln, NE; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ted & Rose Klintworth of Seward, NE; two nieces and three nephews and their families and many extended family and friends. Maria's earthly body will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Seward, NE, to await the glorious day of the resurrection of all the dead.
