Read More	Johnson County Courier Sterling, Johnson County, Nebraska Mrs. Boden Dies From Heart Attack Funeral Will Be Held Friday Afternoon At Immanuel Church Mrs. Eilert Boden passed away at her home west of Sterling at 6:15 Tuesday morning, Febr. 4, 1958, when she was stricken with a heart attack. She had been in poor health the last two years but had only been bedfast a week before her death occurred. Her age was 83 years, 4 months and 3 days. Maria Catharina Jansen, daughter of Diedrich Jansen and his wife Almuth nee Fahs, was born Oct. 1, 1874 at Sterling, Nebr. She was reared on the farm home west of Sterling and attended school near her home. She was baptized on Nov. 14, 1874 and after receiving religious instruction was confirmed on April 14, 1889 by the Rev. John Burmeister in Immanuel Lutheran church west of Sterling. She remained a life-long member of this church. On Febr. 23, 1893 she was married to Eilert W. Boden of Sterling and they spent their entire married life in this community. In 1943 it was their privilege to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary, a most enjoyable occasion for their entire family. Twelve children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Boden, nine of whom survive their parents. They are Alma, at home, John of Omaha, Mrs. Henry (Elizabeth) Weyers of Tecumseh, William of Stella, Henry of Gothenburg, Herman of Nemaha, August and Walter of Sterling, Martin of Lincoln. There are also one son-in-law, five daughters-in-law, 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Mr. Boden preceded his wife in death on Oct. 26, 1955. Mrs. Boden was a sincere christian woman, devoted to her family, and always kind and considerate of others. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in Immanuel Lutheran church two miles west of Sterling. Because of the illness of Pastor Reimnitz, the Rev. John Heins of Elk Creek will officiate. Pallbearers will be six grandsons: Mylon Weyers of Lincoln, Gilbert Weyers of Burr, Lee Roy and Donnavon Boden of Lincoln, Arlyn Boden of Sterling and Robert Boden of Nemaha. Sympathy is with the bereaved ones in their hour of sorrow.
