Boettger, was born July 3, 1900 on a farm west of Harlan in Lincoln Township, Shelby County Ia. She died at the Bishop Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebr. on Sept. 16, 1969 at the age of 69 years, two months and 13 days. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Harlan. She married Chauncey Buck in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan in March of 1920. To this union one son was born. They farmed in Harrison County until 19_, when they moved to their farm southeast of Harlan. They farmed there until 19_ , and they then moved to their present home in Harlan. Mr. Buck died in September of 1947. On Oct. 4, 19 she married Alfred C. Struss in Immanuel Lutheran Church and they have continued to make their home in Harlan. In addition to her husband, Chauncey, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers~Friedrick and Herman H. Boettger. Mrs. Struss is survived by her husband, Alfred; her son, LeRoy Buck of Harlan; three grandchildren~Ronald Lee, LuAnn Kay and Larry Lynn Buck, all of Harlan; two brothers William Boettger of Harlan and Walter Boettger of Shelby; three sisters~Mrs. C.A.(Louise) Welsh of Crawfordville, Ind., Mrs. Roy P. (Frieda) Hansen of Harlan and Mrs. Harold (Edna) Karstens of Avoca; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sept. 19, 1969 at the Pauley Home for Funerals with Pastor Oscar E. Johnson pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was at the Harlan cemetery with George Larson, David Boettger, Bruce Whansall, Simon Mathiasen, Raymond Andersen, and William E.
