Boettger, 86 HARLAN - William Alfred Boettger, son of Friedrick and Louisa (Schuster) Boettger was born June 23, 1904, in Lincoln Twp., Shelby Co. He died Aug. 12, 1990 at Myrtue Memorial Hospital; at age 86 years, one month, and 20 days. He was baptized and "confirmed in the Lutheran Church. He attended country school, Harlan High School, and grew to adulthood on his parents farm. Sept. 15, 1937, he married Estella Petsche at St. Michael's Parsonage. After their marriage, they farmed west of Harlan. After William retired from farming in 1970, they continued to reside on the farm. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in Sept of last year. He was a member of the Shelby County Farm Bureau Association; the Soil Conservation service, and served on the election board. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise and Marie, and three brothers, Friedrick, Herman, and Walter. Surviving him is his wife, Estella of rural Harlan; two sisters, Freda (Mrs Roy) Hansen and Edna (Mrs Harold) Karstens, both of Harlan; a sister-in-law, Mrs Bertha C. Jacobsen of Elk Horn; nieces and nephews and other relatives. A Mass of Christian Burial was concelebrated Aug. 15, 1990 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Harlan with Msgr. Robert Chamberlain as the celebrant and Rev. Edward Kelly concelebrating. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery with Mark Schwery, Lavern Petsche, Kenny Schechinger, Steven W. Boettger, William E. Boettger, and Ron J. Chamberlain serving as casketbearers. Pauley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
