LAMBERTUS LEESEKAMP DIES Death called Mrs. Lambertus Leesekamp, last week Wednesday, after an illness of more than a month's duration. She had resided in Jones county since 1888, a period of 42 years. Her death occurred at the John McDonald Memorial hospital. Mrs. Leesekamp was a native of Germany, and was born in the town of Marx in that country, April 12, 1858. She, was therefore 72 years of age at the time of her death. When a young woman 24 years of age, she came to this country with relatives, and for a time made her home in the state of Illinois. Later, she came to Jones county, and was married Dec. 1, 1885, to Lambertus Leesekamp. They made their home for the past twenty-two years on a farm in Scotch Grove township. Mrs. Leesekamp is survived by one son, Jacob, who lives at Scotch Grove, and by four daughters, Mrs. Harm Huls of Deer Creek, Minn., Mrs. R. H. Helgens of Scotch Grove, Mrs. John Helmrlchs of Ryan, and Mrs. Ben Husman of Oxford Junction. The funeral services were held at Zion's Lutheran church in Wayne township last Saturday morning. Short services were held at 10 o'clock at the family home in Scotch Grove township, and at 10:30 o'clock at the church. Both services were in charge of the Rev. Willms, pastor of Zion's church. Burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery adjoining Zion's church.
