Description	:	Maria Louisa Schober, daughter of Frank and Theresa Thiel Schober, was born in Neiderwildgrub, Bohemia on October 03, 1855. Louisa and Alois Thiel were married there on October 4, 1875. Louisa and daughters Anna and Josephine, of Wildgrub, Bohemia, left Hamburg 28 March 1883 and arrived in New York on April 13, 1883 aboard the ship Wieland. They joined their husband and father, Alois, in Polk County, Nebraska. Alois had come to America in 1882, a year ahead of his family. Read More	Maria Louisa Schober, daughter of Frank and Theresa Thiel Schober, was born in Neiderwildgrub, Bohemia on October 03, 1855. Louisa and Alois Thiel were married there on October 4, 1875. Louisa and daughters Anna and Josephine, of Wildgrub, Bohemia, left Hamburg 28 March 1883 and arrived in New York on April 13, 1883 aboard the ship Wieland. They joined their husband and father, Alois, in Polk County, Nebraska. Alois had come to America in 1882, a year ahead of his family. In May of 1885, they came to their homestead in Section 20 of Loup Township, Buffalo County. They lived in a spacious sod house built by Alois. The family lived on their homestead until about 1900 when Alois moved to Omaha and Louisa was living in Kearney. Alois died in Omaha in 1905 and is buried in Sabetha, Kansas near his daughter Anna Hollister. Louisa married William Matzner of Sumner in Kearney on October 27, 1908. It was the second marriage for both of them. Their witnesses were Robert and Philomina Kirschner, Pleasanton neighbors and friends of Louisa. The Matzners lived on William's farm north of Summer and later moved to Sumner where William died, after a short illness, on July 25, 1919. He is buried in the Sumner cemetery. Sometime after William's death, Louisa moved to Kearney where she made her home at 1519 Seventh Avenue for many years. Louisa, 87, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Josephine (Louis) Unick of 617 West 22nd on June 02, 1942. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Josephine (Louis) Unick, Kearney, and Mrs. Anna (Frank) Hollister, Sabetha Kansas. Kearney Daily Hub, Wednesday, June 02, 1943 Sources: ancestry.com.
