Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Burial was in the G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller. Reck Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Marian L. Collins was born December 13, 1917, to Archie and Ellen Collins in Lead, S.D. She attended school in Spearfish and Miller, graduating from Miller High School in 1936. She worked for many years at Meriweather Vet Supply in Miller. She was united in marriage to Kenneth A. Gard August 17, 1941. Their entire married life was spent in Miller. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Order of Eastern Star, Royal Neighbors and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, Robert (Kathleen) Gard of Afton, Minn., and Glen (Sharleen) Gard of Miller; five grandchildren, Kenneth Edward, Lawrence Allen and Christen Marie, all of Afton, Minn., and Jaime Lynn and April Kathleen, both of Miller; three nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, and infant son, her parents, two brothers and one sister.
