Description	:	Marie Anna Techlenburg Warneking, daughter of Heinrich and Adelheid Wohlke Tecklenburg, was born September 8, 1899, at Martfeld, Germany. She was baptized in the Christian faith October 24, 1899, at Evangelical Lutheran Church, Martfeld and confirmed her faith there April 5, 1914. In September of 1922 she came to the United States living with an uncle for a short time near Cheney, Kansas, and later moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where she was employed in private homes. She was baptized in the Christian faith October 24, 1899, at Evangelical Lutheran Church, Martfeld and confirmed her faith there April 5, 1914. In September of 1922 she came to the United States living with an uncle for a short time near Cheney, Kansas, and later moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where she was employed in private homes. She was united in marriage to Harry Warneking August 17, 1924, at St. Paul's Lutheran church (sic), rural Cheney, Kansas. They farmed her deceased uncle's farm until the spring of 1928, and moved to a farm near Oak, Nebraska, where they lived for 23 years. In 1951, they moved to Superior, Nebraska, and continued to do some farming until the death of her husband October 25, 1959. She was a homemaker, a member of Salem Lutheran Church, and belonged to Ladies Aid Circle I. Her hobbies were sewing, quilting and gardening. She served as a Red Cross Gray Lady, volunteeer (sic) at Brodstone Memorial Hospital and Bloodmobile and a Senior Citizen group volunteer delivering Meals on Wheels. Preceding her in death were her husband Harry, her parents, and four sisters in Germany. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Everett (Ella) Meyer, Mrs. Irene Oltman, both of Superior, and Mrs. Wesley (Thelma) Press of Tempe, Arizona; four grandsons, Ron and Steve Meyer, Joel and Karlton Press; five granddaughters, Kathy Meyer Kickes, LuAnn Meyer, Cindy Oltman Reves, Jeanne Meyer Reiman and Joanne Meyer Poppe; two great grandchildren, Wendy Dickes and Brett Poppe; three sisters-in-law, Magdalena Warneking and Mary Warneking, both of Superior, and Irma Warneking of Deshler; many nieces, nephews and friends. Marie passed away April 27, 1991, in the Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 91 years, 7 months and 19 days. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 30, 1991, at 2:00 p.m. from the Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Steve Tjarks officiating. Congregational hymns of "Thine Is The Glory," "Jesus Still Lean On," "The Lord's My Shepherd," and "God Loves Me Dearly" with Amy Tjarks as organist. Casketbearers were Ronald Meyer, Steven Meyer, Dennis Dickes, Gary Reiman, Steve Poppe and Steve Reves. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery near Superior, Nebraska.
